Movement

Balance Beam Walk

A movement drill for the Foundations stage, at home, in about 10 minutes.

Builds the balance and body control that supports a repeatable golf swing, through general athletic play rather than a golf-specific drill.

STARTWALK THE FULL LINE
Walk the full line without stepping off more times in a row than before.

Equipment

  • rope or chalk

Steps

  1. 01Lay a rope in a straight line, draw a chalk line on the ground, or use a curb.
  2. 02Walk heel-to-toe along the line with arms held out to the sides.
  3. 03Walk the full length without stepping off.
  4. 04Turn around and walk back.
  5. 05Repeat a few times, trying to stay steady the whole way.

Supervise young golfers during any movement drill and stop if it causes pain or dizziness.
