Sandbox Splash

A bunker drill for the Foundations stage, at home, in about 10 minutes.

Removes bunker fear at the earliest age by practicing the splash-the-sand-not-the-ball motion somewhere low-pressure.

Steps

  1. 01Find a home sandbox or a facility bunker with an adult present.
  2. 02Set a small target a few feet away.
  3. 03Practice swinging so the club splashes sand forward, not the ball directly, aiming the splash at the target.
  4. 04Once the splash motion feels comfortable, place a ball just in front of the entry spot and repeat the same swing.
  5. 05Say splash out loud at the moment of impact to reinforce full commitment through the swing.
